Charmaine Reveley

Charmaine Reveley established her label in 2003, and showcased her first collection in the inaugural iD Dunedin Fashion Show at the Dunedin Railway Station in the same year. The Charmaine Reveley brand is about understated femininity and embracing minimal silhouettes to showcase the beauty of the textiles chosen. The textiles used are always the primary inspiration for any Charmaine Reveley collection and often dictate the direction of a collection. Aside from textiles, the brand often draws inspiration from the natural world, in particular botanical elements in nature, which is often reflected both in textiles and in the silhouette of garments. Charmaine Reveley endeavours to create classic garments that will stand the test of time, and each collection follows on seamlessly from the one before.

Sustainability Statement

Charmaine Reveley has a commitment to keeping their clothing production as local as possible. Charmaine Reveley manufactures all their clothing within New Zealand and much of it even more locally within Dunedin. This allows the brand to know the standard of production at each step of the manufacturing process. Although some fabrics are imported, there is an emphasis on deadstock fabrics.  Production is kept small, ensuring only enough product to meet demand, which means there are very few products left at the end of the season, without the need for sales or other tactics to move product from the stores. This retains the value of the garments both within the brand but also for resale.

Charmaine Reveley also designs with a classic design ethos, skewing away from trends which allows investment in quality fabrics and design techniques which allows Charmaine Reveley garments to not only last a long time, but to be able to be resold to have a second life. Charmaine Reveley is committed to developing more sustainable systems.

Diversity Statement

When Charmaine Reveley is designing diversity is continually front of mind, and they are committed to help as many different people as resources allow.  Charmaine Reveley spends a significant amount of time in product development to ensure garments are as suitable for as many bodies as possible. Charmaine Reveley offers a custom service to give clients the ability to have something made to meet their specific needs.
